Who isn’t hoping to find the prized corridor that leads to amazing fitness and freaky weight-loss?

And who doesn’t want the path be moderately convenient: not to impede upon your current schedule and not cause any discomfort?

  • Change requires things to change. 
  • Change requires new habits.
  • Change requires awareness, especially about what needs to change.

TRUE OR NOT TRUE

  • You will know everything you need to know if you read a good health and fitness book. WT…? No!

Sorry, but it’s just NOT TRUE.

You can build a house out of the truckloads of diet books on Amazon, yet there’s an obesity epidemic in every town.  Reading Browsing the diet books we get for Christmas ain’t gonna do it.

Plus, you and I have different body types. Every body responds a touch differently to exercise and food.

You stand to learn more about YOURSELF and YOUR body when you take the ACTION prescribed in the book.

TRUE OR NOT TRUE

  • You can lose 20 pounds in 4 months, if you workout 4 days a week.

Yeah, maybe.

I wouldn’t say it’s impossible, but I would say I hope you have a workout log. I hope you’re planning to advance-schedule ALL your workouts, log the actual exercises, and track your progress each week.

And if losing 20 pounds in 4 months really matters to you, I suggest you keep a journal and write your feelings. Write your goals. Confront your fears. Confront your feelings.

Because 20 pounds isn’t worth a drop of water. A twenty pound weight change is like finding gold!

You’re gonna need to dig and remain tenacious, focused, and committed.

Look at a snapshot of one of my workout journals. Yep, that’s a page of my DUMP–it’s what I call it when I’m dumping out my feelings. Like clearing out my inner obstacles. 

Beside it is the book I’m writing now. It’s a workout log. Plus, more. 

For 20 less pounds, my book will help you. It’ll be ready by Earth Day, in time for Spring!

Tremendously unlikely.

Sorry, but it’s pretty much NOT TRUE.

And if it were TRUE, it’d be a rare phenomenon.

Generally, we can go farther and achieve more with support, guidance, coaching, and the elevation of standard we energetically pick up by simply being in the company of folks with similar goals and elevated habits!

A trainer, a teacher, or a friend will give you one or all the above. Peer groups you create in exercise spaces or a meet-up or a Facebook group help.

You NEED accountability!

Go ahead and find people to celebrate you. 

Keep up with the Rabbits: people that keep you running at a faster pace of belief and action.

All this is better than trying to do your goals by yourself.

  • Keep notes when you read.
  • Post reminders or quotes from the books that inspire you.
  • Advance-schedule your workouts.  
  • Track your progress.
  • Journal.
  • Find a teacher, trainer, or a friend to draft you to your pot of gold.

Have you noticed that January is inching along? 

It feels like a 7-week month to me. I don’t know why, and I’m not complaining.

I like when time passes slowly. It usually does when we value our time to its full capacity.

 

Today I’m reviewing 2017 and planting seeds for 2018 in my intimate inner-view book, the journal and log I created to make the most out of my years.

I’ve been using this book since 2013, and I don’t intend to stop. 

It’s helped me finish reading a book each month. Yes–finish a book. It’s not easy to set aside time to sit still and actually finish a book these days.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

my intimate inner-view has helped me lean out my wardrobe and throw away/donate clothes I don’t wear–ever–because for some reason I have a habit of stuffing my closet for “someday”. 

my intimate inner-view pointed me toward taking online painting classes.

It’s helped me save money.

It’s helped me focus my spending.

It’s helped me structure time to write articles for publication on Curejoy. com, Rebelle Society, and Phoenix Soul magazine.

I had a plan. It certainly didn’t include being single in my late forties. If I knew this future 10 years ago, I would have thrown a temper tantrum at the angels. 

I am single. I’m 49. And I am happier today, yesterday, and the day before. I cannot remember feeling this free as a girl, as a woman, in every part of my life. 

These days, being single does not feel like being alone. It used to, though. And I’d hunt down a soul just to patch the hole.

I feel finally complete as I continue to untame myself, to drop my guard, my masks, my potions.

I am giddy and wild again like a curious child playing with the toys in her chest.

I whisper sweet thanks to experience. And Spirit responds to this exchange.

The boys who once broke my heart, came to apologize when they became men. The threads that tied me to many hearts over many cities and hopes are slipping out of my hands. I bless each one as they float like balloons on a slow breeze.

This story of my completeness I wish to share with my sisters who cry out to be loved by another as a sign of life, and worth.

I wish to tell them:

First set your Self free. Let her thrive in realness.

I would tell her to listen to the opening note of the song you always wanted to sing. This tune will enliven you. Sing it.

 

I would tell her Wave Your Magic over miles of dreams and fears, and follow every hunch that brushes your cheek.

I would tell her love is an unwrapped present you carry with you all the time. It’s been with you during all those misshapen relationships and solo Friday night dinners. 

Once you realize this, open it. Open your gift. It’s wild and untamed inside, made pure and rare, so don’t change it.

When you do–open it–you will have opened the love of your life.

You will have opened your full Self, and she’s exactly who you’ve been looking for all this time.
