fulfillment.

I had a plan. It certainly didn’t include being single in my late forties. If I knew this future 10 years ago, I would have thrown a temper tantrum at the angels.

I am single. I’m 49. And I am happier today, yesterday, and the day before. I cannot remember feeling this free as a girl, as a woman, in every part of my life.

These days, being single does not feel like being alone. It used to, though. And I’d hunt down a soul just to patch the hole.

I feel finally complete as I continue to untame myself, to drop my guard, my masks, my potions.

I am giddy and wild again like a curious child playing with the toys in her chest.

I whisper sweet thanks to experience. And Spirit responds to this exchange.

The boys who once broke my heart, came to apologize when they became men. The threads that tied me to many hearts over many cities and hopes are slipping out of my hands. I bless each one as they float like balloons on a slow breeze.

This story of my completeness I wish to share with my sisters who cry out to be loved by another as a sign of life, and worth.

I wish to tell them:

First set your Self free. Let her thrive in realness.

I would tell her to listen to the opening note of the song you always wanted to sing. This tune will enliven you. Sing it.

I would tell her Wave Your Magic over miles of dreams and fears, and follow every hunch that brushes your cheek.

I would tell her love is an unwrapped present you carry with you all the time. It’s been with you during all those misshapen relationships and solo Friday night dinners.

Once you realize this, open it. Open your gift. It’s wild and untamed inside, made pure and rare, so don’t change it.

When you do–open it–you will have opened the love of your life.

You will have opened your full Self, and she’s exactly who you’ve been looking for all this time.

Version 6

made it to the future.

shakti gawain quote

Shakti Gawain wrote Creative Visualization, a remarkable little book that gave birth to the whole law of attraction child!

I read it when I was about 28.  My Saturn Returns was simply horrible. During that tunnel through darkness, I wrote poetry on the floor of my Los Angeles apartment trying to forgive myself for living a wandering adult life.

I deeply felt life was punishing me for being an artist,

accusing me for continually desiring new palates,

shaking a finger at my operation to shape and sculpt new experiences because

monotony bored my senses.

With the right college degrees and wherewithal to manage, train, and supervise, why did I voluntarily seek a life path that promised instability, that guaranteed uncertainty?

The tone of my journals keep indicating my unresolved obsession with that same question every 10 years.  Now at 47, I face another internal and external rumbling for change.

I’ll have to create a pathway to a land of dreams using my tools:  faith and art.

I must let myself

be.

Let go of ideals and losses.  Be who I am.

In retrospect of the 47 years of fear and curiosity, life is as life does, meanwhile

I have created a me I like and trust.

This year, I have been helped into a better acceptance of knowing myself with support from these pieces of art.

The War of Art, Steven Pressfield – Confronts the courage to create
#Girlboss, Sophia Amorusa   Tells how she created a lucrative business with only a-being-herself business plan.
Big Magic, Elizabeth Gilbert – Reflects on creating: the acknowledgement and acceptance
re-reading The Artist’s Way – Navigates the way the artist unlocks creation
The Motivation Manifesto, Brandon Burhard – Strong call to action: spend deliberate time and energy interacting with living!

Life isn’t short. For some, it’s long.

letter to mE

Girl, you have fallen’ into some big ole holes, and I know how much it has hurt you.

I know you can barely breathe down there in your pursuit of “all there is”- down there gasping to create a relationship that validates you, unraveling in a job-change you thought would define you (but is attacking your beliefs about humanity), in the arduous pursuit of sustainable health insurance.

all there is

But you will get another opportunity to choose soon. Really.

In about 5 months you won’t need to keep cranberry juice in the fridge for your vodka and you won’t need to workout twice a day to keep your butt from blowing up because of the chocolate chip cookie dough. 10 years younger me

Your angry prayers and creative visualization notebooks will move you to a safer ground.

Don’t stop doing that work!

One thing I learned from you is to state my desired outcome like I know for certain it will happen.

Especially when I have no idea how IT will happen, still say IT must.

With no alternative.

That worked for you.

Thanks for giving me that.

Here’s what I wish to give to you, my 10 year younger mE.

Stamp these in your belly.

1. Stand with your intuition. When you feel you know, you are correct.  You do.

2. Don’t tell everyone all your detailed feelings.

Explain only when you have established trust.  Folks you can trust will hold your feelings sacred instead of using your life as something casual to talk about.

3. Journal often. Try audio when you’re scared to write.

4. Finish writing ThemKids. It’s really good.

5. Stop fixing people. Oh God girl, I know it’s your nature, but please stop pushing the fix in your private life.

It will exhaust you and deplete the enthusiasm you need for your beliefs.

Simply, offer advice if you’re asked, but don’t beg anyone to take it.

6. Respect every woman you see. They are precious. You have so much in common. You do.

7. Protect your spiritual center. Let it expand. It will make you magical.

Life isn’t short for everyone.  For some, it’s long.

Life is precious.
What always amazes me is that we get so many chances to be who we want to be.
Regret isn’t necessary.

You are not going to make a bad decision.

So every time you decide something, be as bold as brass.  It all fits somewhere.

Each year, you’ll see, this life gets more and more meaningful,

and you will learn that sometimes

breaking the conventions and “supposed tos”

is what will bring you the most happiness.

put your life IN MOTION

Recently, the promises of the Law of Attraction have started to get on my last nerve.

The LoA has become a die-hard STRATEGY taught to get folks to ride the fast train to the acquisition of their goals– to be able to attract new, SHINY, super-sized STUFF like cars, jobs, tight BODs, mates, six-figures…

Recently, I’ve heard tons of folks complaining they’re not seeing their fortunes delivered, all wondering what they’re doing wrong!

Nothing.  Except you must add the real work:

TRANSFORMATION of behavior.

BECOME the person you need to be to live the life you desire to live.

Way before I was ever introduced to this LoA tool to rev up luck,

I used plain ole day-dreaming.

And there was no TRY attached to it.

I just envisioned movies of myself doing my dream.

And more!

I behaved as if my dream was already REAL.

I was the seed, the bud, and the blossom.

I was seeing, talking, and acting with absolute certainty that my dream was REAL.

I wasn’t TRYING to attract it.

I never TRIED to align with it.

I never TRIED anything.

I imagined and then studied what I need to DO

to become what I desired.

I BEHAVED and prepared for it to happen without fail,

and with faith enough to hurdle fear and suffocate the sound of crows.

To be extremely honest, I probably sounded and looked crazy to folks.  I remember people giving me that peculiar look, like “you poor child..”

Now, I believe it’s totally mad-crazy to hatch a nest of excuses why you can’t do the things your heart burns for, and it’s a travesty to imagine awakening 10 years from now in your skin soiled with regret.

Believe, then BEHAVE your way into the life you are worth living.

Whatever you are doing right now, shows what you really and truly have FAITH in.

3 reasons folks find it blasted hard to maintain an exercise program

bfitness byoga

Biggest reason people don’t fully commit to getting in shape

➜ including maintaining an exercise program with conscious eating

they BELIEVE they cannot SUSTAIN it

Here are 3 ways to change this belief ::

(Get)                1. Community support ➺  get  help

(Always)         2. Advance-schedule   ☞  plan

(Totally)         3. Use your good senses

 1.  You cannot sustain much without support,   whether it be a consistent exercise program, a loving relationship, or raising a healthy child.

You need support from those who are aligned with your goals and ideals to achieve anything and sustain excellence.

We are spiritually designed to flourish through making connections.

Be clear that the connections you make are with those who encourage you, not diminish your efforts.

my beLOvedBODy principle ✶

Find a tribe that aligns with your vibe!

2.   We are what we do habitually.  So, make a weekly plan or advance-schedule your workouts and your meals.

(The RiT is the weekly RITUAL of 8 behaviors and habits for a healthy BOD)

If you are left to your own whims and cravings, you will surely stray to your emotions to tell you what to do.  Listening to the guidance of your emotions, is like listening to a 3 year old tell you what to do.  Be gentle.  But don’t do it!

Consider the emotional distractions of life – stress, time constraints, varied environments, hormones, other people’s opinions.   Life is a recipe for erratic, inconsistent choices.

Have a plan, instead. Live by it.

It’s easier.

3.   Employ your senses, really, I mean it  ➥  use sight, smell, sound, touch, taste!

Visualize the way you wish to look – every day.
Train yourself to enjoy the smell of healthy food.  Train yourself to know that the smell of old grease stinks.  Don’t eat it.
Practice smelling the baked goods without yearning to devour them.

{Yearning for them is another emotional attack.}

Remember The RiT and follow it!

Listen to your inner wisdom telling you to LOve yourself by making healthy decisions.

Do not listen to other people’s agendas

( unless they are supporting your inner Wise One).

CULTIVATE A CLOSE RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR BOD.

Take baths, get massages, look in the mirror at your BOD OFTEN!!  {Yep!}

The more you avoid looking at yourself, the more distance you’ll create with your BOD.

Celebrate eating without guilt or gluttony!

After a while and after seeing your “hot BOD” results  ▸ and “a while” took me about 2 years because I finally got serious! this becomes so frickn easy, you’ll wonder what took you so long.

You see, you deserve to live healthy.

Choose regular exercise and eat consciously.

Your good health is sustainable with a plan, some help from good folks, and a little assistance from your good senses!
